Gov Buni Commends Network Of Yobe Civil Society Organizations

The executive Governor of Yobe state Hon Mai Mala Buni ( Chiroman Gujba) has explained that the importance of budget dialogue is further underscored by the quest for accelerating the Yobe state reform process of transparency, accountability, due process, and inclusions of members of the general public in the annual budget dialogue.

 

The governor, represented by his Deputy, Hon Idi Barde Gubana, gave the commendation today while declaring the citizens 2021 budget dialogue, organized by the ministry of budget and economic planning in collaboration With the network of Yobe state civil society organizations, with a view to enhance service delivery as well as identify priority areas that have direct bearing to the common man.

 

The occasion which took place at the cultural center Maiduguri road, Damaturu attracted participants from different organizations to prioritize demands for the provision of projects and social services that could give the desired impact to the people at the grassroots in the forthcoming fiscal year.

 

In his remarks, the chairman house committee on finance and appropriations, Hon Chiroma Buba Mashio, commended the organizers of this important event for taking the initiative for reflecting the voices of the common men and inclusion of their actual yearnings and aspiration of the project and social services.

 

The overseer’s permanent secretary, in the ministry of budget and economic planning, Mal. Abdullahi Jawa noted that the ministry is responsible for providing an effective framework for resources allocation monitoring and evaluation inconsistent with the state Development goals.

 

Speaking on the policy direction of the present administration, the Director budget in the same ministry, Hajiya Zainab Abdu Saleh, noted that the main policy direction of government in 2021, is the completion of ongoing projects especially in the priority areas of education, agriculture, healthcare delivery services, construction of roads and provision of water among others.

 

The representative of partnership to engage reform and learn PERL – ECP, Mal. Waziri Kolere expressed satisfaction with the ministry of budget, the network of Yobe state civil society organizations for their understanding and support, assured that the dialogue would be sustained and enhance service delivery.

 

The executive chairman network of Yobe state civil society organizations, Alh Baba Shehu presented citizens’ needs to the special guest of honour and Deputy Governor, Hon Idi Barde Gubana for onwards submission to the state Governor.
