Gov Badaru Charges Public To Observe COVID- 19 Protocols

Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State confirmed that from the first case of COVID-19 discovered in the state to date, over 480 positive cases have been detected across the 21 local government areas out of the 27 LGAs in the state.

Badaru explained further that in the last nine months of operation the state has worked through eight pillars of COVID-19  guidelines and achieved successes which include the establishment of 22 members state task force and the establishment of the local government implementation committee in all the 27 local government areas.

According to the summary of cases as of 2021, a total of 6141 patients, were screened in which a total of 486 were found positive and 425 have also been discharged in which 13 died including one medical doctor.

Badaru assured that there will be a penalty for defaulters of COVID-19 protocols; the fines include a fine of five thousand Naira or six months imprisonment.

He charged people of the state to continue observing the laid down rules of COVID-19 protocols in the state in all religious, social, and political gatherings with the intention to protect everyone.

He urged people to continue to offer prayers to Allah SWT to protect us and put a barrier between us and all other calamities including the COVID-19 Pandemic.
