The Nasarawa State Government irked over a recent publication by one of the national daily alleging Uncertainty over the missing of the state Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has called on the good people of Nasarawa State to ignore and henceforth disregard any such publication aimed at creating mistrust and disharmony in the state.
The position of the state Government was contained in a press statement and made available to Journalist by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on media and publicity,Ahmed Tukur.
The SSA said the publication is not only mischievous but the figment of the imagination of the prophets of doom who are out to create confusion using devilish assumptions to achieve selfish goals.
“The attention of Governor Umaru Tanko Al – Makura of Nasarawa has been drawn to a recent publication by a national daily alleging “Uncertainty in Nasarawa over the whereabouts of Gov Tanko Al-Makura”.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor said Such publication needed clarification, but for reasons best known to the writer who neither contacted the deputy governor, Silas Agara nor did he get across to any government official for clarification as claimed.
“Governor Umaru Tanko Al – Makura is not missing, but has been conducting the affairs of the state as enshrined by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
There is also no iota of truth in the said publication that the governor travelled without officially handing over to his deputy Silas Agara because of a disagreement between the two leaders.
The governor and his deputy are having a very cordial working relationship that the people of the state can attest to as well as Senator Abdullahi Adamu and other stakeholders in the state who are happy with the developmental strides of the governor.
The allegation by masterminders of the report of an imaginary face off between the Governor, his Deputy and Senator Abdullahi Adamu only demonstrates their envy of the cordiality and good working relationship.
The statement further stated that mischief makers in the state are working very hard to create disaffection by diverting the attention of the Governor and his Deputy who are working relentlessly to bring the much needed dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
