Gombe state Agency for HIV and AIDS control (GOMSACA) has taken a bold step in ensuring that communities within the state know the danger of HIV and AIDS.
Project Manager of the Agency Dr. Suraj Abdulkarim made this known in Gombe while interacting with our reporter.
He said the need to curtail the virus is aimed at preventing people from contacting the disease.
Even though the high rate of the disease which has been the major factor affecting the people in the society has reduced drastically in Gombe state according to recent report from NACA
Strategy plan has emerged to carry sensitzationzation programme to ensure the elimination of the disease in communities he said
Personal of the Agency has been trained to carry out the orientation to reach community who are yet to know the danger of HIV and AIDS.
According to him, we will do everything possible to ensure that people aware about the
disease.
He called on the people who are yet to know their status to do so as time wait no one.
The Project Manager while explaining effort of the state government over the fight against HIV and AIDS appealed to them to support and approve budgetary allocation meant for the control of the scourge for speedy delivery.
He said no fewer than 35 percent population of the people in the state are yet to know their status and advise them to visit near bye health centers and get tested to know their status.
According to him, the agency is working tirelessly with the effort of the state government to see that menace is reduce in the society.
