Gombe State Police Imposes Curfew Following The Murder Of Shiekh Albani

In response to the tragic murder of prominent Islamic scholar Shiekh Ibrahim Musa Albani Kuri, the Gombe State Police Command has swiftly enforced a curfew from midnight (12 am) to 6 am. The curfew is aimed at maintaining public safety, curbing rising criminal activities, and upholding law and order throughout the state.

The directive, issued by Commissioner of Police CP Oqua Etim, aims at ensuring that individuals engaged in criminal activities are brought to justice and to create an environment where criminal elements find no refuge in Gombe.

“The Gombe State Police Command will collaborate with other security forces to strictly enforce the curfew, and the public is encouraged to report any suspicious activity during the restricted hours to the nearest security agency.”

Meanwhile, the Gombe State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the tragic killing of Islamic Scholar Ibrahim Albani at his Tabra residence. The incident involved 4 masked assailants who stabbed the scholar after he resisted their demands for money, in his home at Tabra, in the Metropolis.

According to Public Relations Officer ASP Mahid Abubakar, no arrests have been made yet, but thorough investigations are underway as directed by Commissioner of Police CP Oqua Etim.

Governor Yahaya mourns Shiek Albani’s Demise:

Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, during a condolence visit to the family of the late scholar, expressed his sorrow over Albani’s demise and pledged to reinforce the state’s security framework. The Governor condemned the killing and vowed to bring the culprits to justice. He emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining safety and security for all citizens, ensuring incidents like this are prevented from happening again.
