Gombe Govt Sets To Reform Civil Service

Gombe state government has taken step to reform conditions that bedeviled the civil service.

 

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya stated this yesterday at government house chamber in Gombe when he received a report from a committee on the review of structure of reform of the civil service.

 

He said government will go through the report carefully aimed at restructuring them adding that when it is completed the report would be sent to state house of assembly for proper approval.

 

Governor Yahaya noted that government will always be on forefront to disengaged calamity affecting the state civil service.

 

According to him, the calamity in the state civil service should not continue as government has pave way to reform them.

 

He said his administration is to change situation to ensure that people benefit the dividend of democracy.

 

The governor while thanking the committee for the good job called on the permanent Secretaries to do as much as possible to ensure that they carry their legitimate function effectively.

 

Speaking earlier, the chairman of the committee and Rtd Permanent secretary in the ministry Dr. Jalo Ibrahim Dauda said the committee was able to achieve its goal through the help of some Rtd Permanent Secretaries and Traditional institutions.

 

He said there is need to reform the state civil service which according to him, the state civil service lack record keeping.

 

The chairman who did not hide his feelings inform the governor that the committee extended its assignment to local government area to ensure that thing are done properly even at the local level.

 

He thanked the governor for giving them support to carry out their function effectively.
