Barrister Solomon Selcap Dalung who is the former Nigerian minister of Youths and Sports activities has on Wednesday condemned the attack of the good people of Mangu local government area of Plateau State.
The former Minister said this during an interview with our correspondent, sympathized with those who lost their loved ones, and also prays for permanent healing of those who were injured as a result of the attack.
” I extend my deepest condolences and heartfelt solidarity to each and every one of you. Your strength in the face of such unimaginable tragedy is a testament to the indomitable human spirit. In these dark moments, I want to offer a profound statement of peace, one that carries the weight of compassion, healing, and hope.
In the midst of profound pain and grief, let us remember that peace is not just an absence of violence, but a beacon of light that can guide us through the darkest of times. It is the unyielding belief that love, empathy, and understanding can transcend hatred and bring solace to even the deepest wounds.
While the scars left by these heinous acts may seem insurmountable, it is our collective duty to rise above the cycle of hatred and seek a path of reconciliation and healing. We must summon the strength to look beyond our differences and recognize the shared humanity that unites us all. It is in this shared humanity that we can find the seeds of compassion and forgiveness, essential elements on the journey toward lasting peace.
According to the former Minister, Dalung said that “let us reject the vicious cycle of violence and embrace the power of dialogue and understanding. Engage in open conversations with one another, with the intention of fostering empathy and finding common ground. It is through these courageous dialogues that we can bridge the divides that separate us and work towards a future where the atrocities of the past become a distant memory.
Added that In the pursuit of peace, we must also seek justice. Let us stand together in demanding accountability for the acts of violence and the lives lost. It is through a fair and impartial justice system that we can build trust and lay the foundations for a society rooted in equality, where every individual feels safe, valued, and heard.
To those who have suffered unimaginable loss, remember that you are not alone. Lean on one another for support, share your stories, and allow the healing process to begin. Together, as a resilient community, you have the strength to transform the pain and sorrow into a catalyst for positive change.
In this arduous journey toward peace, let us not forget the power of education and understanding. Teach the younger generations the values of tolerance, respect, and empathy. Nurture a culture that celebrates diversity and fosters harmony. It is through the education of our youth that we can break the cycle of violence and sow the seeds of peaceful coexistence.
“As we move forward, let us hold on to the vision of a future where every individual can live free from fear, violence, and oppression. Together, we can build a world where differences are embraced, conflicts are resolved through dialogue, and the dignity and sanctity of every human life are cherished.
The former Minister of Youths and Sports, Honorable Solomon Dalung, noted that ” We can create a world where peace reigns supreme, and the memories of the past guide us towards a brighter tomorrow.
With unwavering hope and profound solidarity, he added.
