Former Head of Service Under Jang’s Govt. Moses Gwong, 2 Others Killed, As Renewed Killings Resume In Plateau Communities Of Barkin Ladi ,Jos North And Bassa LGAs

Bloodbath in Plateau state as Plateau State Police Confirmed that Four people have been killed by suspected unknown persons who invaded Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, where it was learned by this medium that among the killed was a former Head of service, Hon Da Moses Gwong under former Governor Jang’s Government.

The State Police command PPRO Tyovev Mathew Terna said, there was an attack yesterday at about 21: 20hrs which led to the death of the former Head of service Da Moses Gwom in Barkin Ladi.

Terna said, the Attack also left four people injured even as they Police hinted that police personnel has been deployed to the scene.

Some group already are alleging that the attack is a kind of Fulani form of a terror attack, the attack was meted on Dorowa, around Elisto Hotel in Barkin Ladi LGA last night 10/10/17 where three persons have been confirmed killed and two others injured.

Information available revealed that casualties include a former Head of Service, Mr. Moses Gwong, who was killed with others involving his Cousin, one of the security and two STF personnel who went to buy telephone recharge card around the area.

This medium also gathered that Moses’ wife was attacked and she sustained various degrees of injuries and she and others are now receiving treatment in hospital.

Since the recent threat by “Arewa quit notice to Ibos” which claimed two people in Jos last month so many rumors of plan attack is going on in Dong and Bisichi area of the state.

However, one out of several attacks was carried out in form of an armed robbery in Dong community of Jos North LGA last week, where a Pastor was killed in his house close to Federal Low-Cost housing.

One NGO Stefanos Foundation has advised on immediate high-security surveillance around satellite towns and outskirts community areas in Plateau State.

We expect an effective measure that would police the environment and fish out these perpetrators for justice in order to stop another escalation of violence in Plateau State.

“It would recalled that ever since the return of fragile peace on the Plateau, Fulani herders in recent times, have renewed their modus of operandi through the exhibition of aggression ranging from attacks on human persons, mischievous grazing, forceful territorial expansions, amongst many”, the statement read.

However, on the backdrop of the aforementioned in just an hour ago, Da Moses Gwong, a very famous icon in Berom land was brutality murdered including a personnel of Operation Safe Haven who was shot dead in a cold blood by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen.

The attack is said to have been meted out on them when Da Moses and other deceased were in his provisions shop at Ropp of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State and was attending to customers before they were gruesomely murdered.

It was gathered that native inhabitants of Ken and Rachi in Bachi District and other Berom communities since five days ago have been experiencing sporadic gunshots, threats, intimidation, unruly and provocative conduct displayed by the herders.
