Former CPC Gubernatorial Aspirant Cautions For Over Holding Local Govt System By Yakubu Ventim
Former Gubernatorial Candidate of CPC and SA to Governor Joshua Dariye has cautioned government to completely over hold and redesign an effective Local Government system.
Speaking to our correspondent at the NUJ press centre in an exclusive interview ,he said the local government system need total over holding to make it more functional and effective in restoring the confidence of people at the grass root .
Podar appealed to the states to redesign local government administration because there’s no design development plan by the Chairmen Nigeria so we are appealing for the system to be check by federal and state to help support to have the grass root development plan .
According to him, local government is the key factors to expose performance of Chairmen to aspire for higher position in the state, Local government system need complete total re framing for people to feel the impact of Local administration.
He added ,when those who want to aspire for any position at the local level have define objective the system suffered setback, they should be able to bring their manisfestors of what to give the people because the entire system look as sharing of national cake .
The former CPC candidate stressed that ,he didn’t believe in the ideology of the APC ,they are not serious people so it made me have a bolt step to move back to PDP.
Hon Johnson Podar described the return of Mohd Abacha to PDP as taking the right decision of moving the politics forward because he was then the gubernatorial candidate of the party before April general elections but they excluded him ,I think his right there’s no internal democracy in the party .
He applauded president Goodluck Jonathan for introducing National conference ,the president have done the right thing because the people will be allow to express their mind the issue of dichotomy involving religious tribal problem with a lot of agitation in different session will be taking care of so we have this believe that the confab will unite more people.
Johnson podar also condemned that some people who are saying the president is just planning to diverse the attention of Nigerian that is not true the Chairman of the committee will not want to do something that Nigerian will be proud so he will put in more effort .we should stop entertaining fear but let people expressed their mind .
