Former Bauchi governorship Aspirant under the All Progressive Congress (APC) Al’ameen Muhammad has slammed the Nigerian governors responsible for the nationwide protest against the administration of President Tinubu

This was just as the former governorship Aspirant has urged for uninterrupted investigation on the governors following their shoddy deals in pauperizing the local government system under the joint account which has brought years of untold hardship to Nigerians at the grassroots

Alamin made the explosive statement in an exclusive interview with Universal Reporters in Bauchi said, governors’ resolve to sponsor the protest emanated from their alleged grudge over the recent Supreme Court ruling where local governments were granted financial Autonomy under the president’s administration

He added that the Supreme Court ruling appears to have ended the governors’ financial recklessness in embezzling public funds for purposeful development

“To be candid the Supreme Court ruling has finally frustrated governors’ reckless spending of public funds, so the only payback to Tinubu is to mobilize irate youths to go for protest as an option to give them soft landing apparently to continue to place the Local government system at a disadvantage, especially the citizens, “said Alamin

According to the former governorship Aspirant, the Supreme Court verdict is a perpetual panacea to extend democracy dividend to the nook and crannies of Nigeria and warn Tinubu not to succumb to the antics of his renewed agenda

He had urged the federal government to immediately commence an independent investigation of the governors to refund all funds meant for LG Council from 1999 to date to ensure prudence and accountability

He kicked against the protest and expressed dismay that governors had been a serious bottleneck on the efforts of President Tinubu having initiated various palliative measures to cushion the effects of poverty in the country, yet Nigerians still groaned

Alamin urges the protesters to blame their respective state governors for allegedly diverting trucks of food items distributed to all States of the federation through the governors and caution them to be law-abiding citizens instead of taking the law into their own hands

“There is no point saying president Tinubu recently distributed trucks of food items to governors mean for Nigerians and yet the same governors appear: not to distribute the same to their citizens, thereby culminating in protesting, it is unfortunate,” alarming fumed

Meanwhile, streets in Bauchi metropolis are currently deserted as stance-looking armed security men have taken over to safeguard public and private properties, especially institutions. At the same time, shops and businesses have been paralyzed for fear of any attempt by protesters to loot a person’s belongings.
