Former ADC To Ex-Civilian Governor Of Plateau Burnt To Ashes With 3 Of His Children

At least four members of the same family have been reported killed in Jenta Adamu community of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state in the early hours of Monday by an early morning fire outbreak.

It was gathered that the Former ADC to the Second civilian Governor of Plateau State, Sir Fidelis. Tapgun was burnt to ashes with his three children inside their rooms.

The fire outbreak which started at about 1:30am immediately after the Nigeria and Sweden match killed the retired ASP Anthony Kwame and the Children, Miss Theresa Anthony Thomas, Mr. Emmanuel Anthony and Miss Kerry Anthony.

The compound of five families was raised down completely by wild fire suspected from electrical fault that wreaked havoc by damaging properties worth millions of naira including lives of innocent children who were cut short by the inferno.

Speaking with our correspondent at the scene, the village head of Jenta Adamu ,Mr Kabala Bako who share fence with the deceased family said at about 1:30 PM after watching Nigeria Match he was about going to sleep when they heard the voice of Children crying for help.

The youths rushed to their rescue struggling to prevent the fire from spreading to other surrounding buildings but after managing to control the inferno in the entire affected compound no single property was removed.

“We kept pouring water before the men of firefighters came to the scene and quickly put off the fire but when they went into the rooms, they discovered that ASP Anthony Kwame and his three children were burnt to ashes only their skeletons were handpicked and taken to hospital.

Kabala said the youth did all they could to see that the family were rescue, he also said that the sad, ugly incident has cause the community this monumental lost.

The retired Late ASP Anthony Kwame who served the Nigerian Police Force well before retiring has seven children, lost first his wife and remarried another wife who gave birth to three children.

One of the victims who is also a neighbor  Mrs Manya Mathew said ,she was sleeping inside her room with the children when she heard her neighbors’ children shouting for help and when she look up her roof fire had almost raised the wall.

She said her properties were affected no single items she could escape with during the flames which overrun the entire edifice.

Our correspondent gathered that sympathizes were seen scrambling to witness the disaster and condole with bereaved families.
