For Fear Of Divulging Information To The Opposition, Bauchi Governor Forces Govt. House Staff To Take Oath Of Secrecy At Magistrate Court

Governor-Bauchi-Mohammed-Abdullahi-AbubakarAll Civil Servants deployed to serve in Government house were Wednesday compelled to take oath of secrecy at the Magistrate Court Bauchi‎.

A reliable Source from Government House Bauchi told Newsmen in Bauchi, ‎that Governor Mohammed Abubakar mandated that all staff serving and deployed recently should take oath of secrecy for not revealing government Secret.

The Source, said we were issued with a letter of secrecy pursuant to section 2 and 7 of the official oaths laws, cap 102 laws Of Bauchi state 2006.

According to him, the letter reads in parts: having taken up office I do swear that I will not directly or indirectly reveal such matters as may be committed by the government of Bauchi state to my secrecy so help me God, with signature.

It could be recalled that the State Head of Service Mr Abdon Dalla Gin had in a press briefing held in Government House warned civil servants against gross misconduct saying “don’t   leaked government secrets” or you will face disciplinary action.

Mr Abdon Dalla, said that recent happening in the service has created lots of concern to the government.

“Recent happenings in the service have created lots of concern to us where cases of gross misconduct and misbehaviors abound like leaking of government secrets, indolence and negligence of duty. These are punishable of offence and we will not hesitate to take drastic punitive action against any erring officer found wanting” he said

The Head of service said Servicom was established in 2007 being one of the instruments used to monitor civil servants on their compliance to the laid down rules and regulations of the service aimed at enhancing effective service delivery
