First Lady, Jos North LGA Urges Women To Promote Democracy At Grassroots

The First Lady of the Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Farida Bala Usman has expressed her readiness to work closely with  Women to ensure dividends of democracy get to  the people at the grassroots.

She stated this while in the audience with APC women Leaders of Jos North Local Government Area at the Local Government Secretariat in Jos.

 

The meeting between the APC Women Leaders and Wife of the Chairman is to fashion out ways to drive the vision of creating a credible platform for women in the area to network and forge stronger partnership and take dividends of democracy to the doorstep of citizens.

 

 

Wife of the Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Farida Bala Usman acknowledged the role of women in the nation-building.

 

She called on women in Jos North to work closely with her as a team to touch the lives of the people of the area.

 

She Commended the wife of the Plateau state Governor Regina Lalong for recognizing the role of Women and assured of her readiness to extend such to Jos North Local Government Area.

 

Farida Bala Usman used the occasion to call on Women to sensitize their followers on the guidelines of medical professionals to curb the spread of COVID 19 pandemic which is ravaging globally.

 

She explained that the fight against COVID 19 pandemic is everyone’s business, noting that all hands must be on deck to fight the scourge of the disease.

 

The occasion climaxed with the presentation of wrappers, face masks and hand sanitizer to Women.

 

Meantime, Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Shehu Bala Usman has expressed his condolences to the Family of Abubakar Sadiq over the sad killing of their Seven-year-old Son who was killed at Tudun Fera by unknown persons.

 

The Chairman described the killing of the young Nigerian as unfortunate as his life was cut short.

 

He explained that the Local Government is working closely with security operatives to unravel the perpetrators of the act and bring them to justice. He  prayed God to grant the immediate family the fortitude to bear the loss

 

Responding Abubakar Sadiq thanked the Chairman for identifying with them in their moment of sorrow noting that they are highly comfortable with the visit.
