Fintiri Appoints Ex-SGF As Adamawa Representative On Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund Board

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has appointed Boss Mustapha, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), as Adamawa State’s representative on the Board of Trustees of the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund.
The appointment, approved by the governor, is aimed at strengthening regional security efforts and ensuring Adamawa State’s active participation in key decisions concerning the protection of lives and property across Northern Nigeria.
In a statement issued by Humwashi Wonosikou, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Fintiri said the appointment reflects his administration’s commitment to improving security collaboration and enhancing the region’s security architecture.
The Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund was established by the Northern Governors’ Forum as a sub-national initiative to complement the work of security agencies.
The fund supports intelligence gathering and coordination, provides operational logistics, promotes inter-state collaboration, and drives community-based security initiatives across the 19 northern states.
Governor Fintiri described Mustapha as a highly experienced public servant whose leadership credentials make him well-suited for the role.
“His wealth of experience in public service, proven leadership capacity, and national stature make Boss Mustapha eminently qualified to effectively represent the interests of Adamawa State on this all-important Board,” the governor said.
He expressed concern over the persistent security challenges facing the country, particularly in Northern Nigeria, citing the rise in banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and communal conflicts.
According to him, the establishment of the Trust Fund by the Northern Governors’ Forum is a proactive measure aimed at addressing these threats and restoring peace across the region.
Governor Fintiri congratulated Mustapha on his appointment, describing it as recognition of his integrity, competence, and dedication to national service.
He expressed confidence that the former SGF would leverage his vast experience to advance the objectives of the Trust Fund, strengthen cooperation among states, and ensure Adamawa State’s interests are effectively represented.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with federal and regional stakeholders to enhance security and safeguard the wellbeing of citizens across the state.
