Financial Scandal: National Vice President Zone D’ Calls  For Probe Of The Out Going NUJ President

The outgoing National Vice President, Zone D of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Chief Wilson Bako has appealed to one of the presidential aspirant of the Union to set up a probe committee to investigate the administration of Waheed Odusile.

 

 

The National officer who is seeking for his re-election to represent the Union at zone D hinted this when the campaign team of Chris Isiguzowas at the Nasarawa State Council.

 

 

 

Bako call on the presidential aspirant not to hesitate to probe Odusile over the dissapeance of over N10, 000,000.

 

 

He stated that the outgoing President runs the Union as his personal property without consulting other national officers of the Union.

 

 

The National officer pleaded to the aspirant to act fast over the plight of the state owned publishing company “Nigerian Newsday Newspaper if elected as the next president.

 

 

He expressed concerned over the sudden dearth of the media outfit under the current administration.

 

 

He described Isigozu as a true Nigerian.

 

 

The presidential aspirant, Chris Isiguzo with his campaign team titled “The Rescue Mission” said the Union was on a terrible point and promised to bring the Union out of the doldrums.

 

 

He however maintained that he accord impetus to the welfare of members as well tackle the Non-payment of salary by some media proprietors.

 

 

Chris further revealed that he would do every possible best to ensure stabilization of media industry by liaising with the Nigeria Press Council, Guild of Editors and amongst others.

 

 

The presidential aspirant buttressed that he would rescue the Union through training and retraining of media practitioners.

 

 

“I assured the delegates here that I will run a responsible and responsive administration by allowing everybody to do his job effectively”.

 

 

He maintained that he would deliver his mandate if elected by ensuring that there is checks and balances.

 

 

“We will revive the status of International Institute of Journalism by making sure certificate from the institution.

 

 

The State chairman of the NUJ, Nasarawa State Council, Comrade Dogo Shama applauded the aspirant and promised that the state Council would accord it maximum support to the rescue mission team.
