Federal High Court Grants Travel Document To Akwe Doma Over Dwindling Health

Justice Agatha Okeke of the federal high court Lafia has granted the prayer of the defense counsel to the former governor of Nasarawa state, Aliyu Akwe Doma to travel for medical treatment in India.

The defense counsel, Barrister A.S Yusuf in submission pray the court to discharge all the three defendants for lack of sufficient evidence saying no count of conspiracy or count of stealing against the defendants.

He also urged the presiding Judge, Justice Agatha Okeke to temper Justice with mercy with the ongoing matter against the defendants

The prosecuting counsel Barrister Agoro opposed the “no case submission application, urging the presiding Judge to discountenance the application.

Agoro also urged the court to discountenance the augment for fair hearing as well over ruled all documented evidences, Justice Okeke granted the application on the ground of ill-health.

Okeke passionately granted the application for the release of International passport to Akwe Doma to enable him seek for medical treatment in India, Doma was given 5/5/2017 to return his International passport to the court.

The court slated 27/3/2017 for the ruling of ” no case submission” Agatha Okeke adjourned the matter to 15/16/17 of May 2017 for the continuation of hearing the defendants was alleged to have diverted N15bn between May 29 2007-2011.
