Fake Products Worth Millions Of Naira Set Ablaze In Imo By Consumer Protection Commission, As Ag DG, Obioma Warn Manufacturers

The Acting Director General of Consumer Protection Commission, CPC, Imo State Chapter, Hon.Mrs.Lucy Obioma Okafor,with her team on Monday,  June 1st 2020,set ablaze all kinds products ceased by the Commission alleged to be fake.

 

Shortly after burning of the fake products at Avu Area along Owerri-Portharcourt Road, the Imo CPC DG, Mrs.Lucy Okafor,expressed great joy to dispose some of ceased products from manufacturers in Imo State within  very short period upon her assumption of office.

 

Hon.Obioma Okafor, who spoke to newsmen at the site where the fake products were set ablaze, regretted at the heights of manufacturing sub-standard products, saying that the commission as a regulatory agency against fake products is ever poised to protect consumers’ interest.

 

“We shall continue to burn and destroy every fake or expired products to save lives. Manufacturers in Imo State and beyond should be very careful while buying any product especially for consumption. We in (CPC) shall be consumers friendly as a regulatory body”, Obioma submitted.

 

Some of the products worth of millions set ablaze includes : “expired drugs, body spray/cream, expired drinks, soap and other kinds of fake products which could be very harmful for human consumption”.
