Ezeship Tussle At Nkwerre LGA: Gov.Uzodinma’s Chief Of Staff Family, Anyaehie Fumes

Dan Opara

It was on last Wed.10th June, 2020, when the  Eze-Elect of Nnanano Nkwerre (Autonomous) Community in Nkwerre LGA of Imo State, Chief Ngozi Anyaehie,(Enyioha),raised alarm on a report against his Traditional Royal Stool by some persons from Nkwerre Local Govt.who allegedly moved to defame his position as an Eze-Elect.

In his words, the Eze-Elect, Chief Anyaehie, made it very clearer that he was   duely elected, generally accepted and painstakingly chosen by his people since 2004.

“I am poised to say the real truth and nothing but the truth. The documents related to my throne are there to speak for itself. There is no going back, forward ever backward never. It is an aged long struggle. The official approval of Nnanano Nkwerre Autonomous Community in Nkwerre was done by the Imo House of Assembly during the Speakership tenure of Rt.Hon.Amaechi Nwoha, as the then Speaker of the House”,  Chief Anyaehie revealed.

The Eze-Elect furthermore, maintained that he was elected by his people to be their Traditional Ruler and that there is no going back.

Meanwhile, the IMHA member representing Nkwerre State Constituency,Hon.Prince Obinna Okwarra, who raised alarm at the plenary through a point of order, called on the attention of the House to the atrocities being perpetuated by the IMC Chairman of Nkwerre LGA, Hon.Frank Onyejiaka, who is aiding  an illegality through official reception of a purported Eze-Elect of Nnanano in Nkwerre when the State Govt.and the Imo State House of Assembly has put on hold balkanization of established Autonomous Communities in Imo State.

In other words, the inimical acts of the Nkwerre IMC Chairman runs contrary to government’s stand and position on aspiring new autonomous communities in Imo State.

The  lawmaker described Chief Anyaehie’s aspiration as a mere wish of some desperadoes of the Nkwerre Ancient Community.

Hon.Prince Obinna Okwarra recalled the shameful act of Hon.Prince Ugochukwu Nzekwe, who tampered with the official documents of the desperadoes.

He pointed out that no body nor matter highly placed has the power to smuggle in letters in any official documents.

Meanwhile, the Imo State House of Assembly has invited Chief Ngozi Anyaehie and the IMC Chairman to come up with documents where the Governor assented to the documents that authorise him to parade himself as an Eze-Elect of nonexisting community.

Recalled that the Eze-Elect is the elder brother to current Chief of Staff to the Imo State Governor, Chief Barr.Nnamdi Anyaehie, of which some indigenes of Nkwerre LGA of Imo State, accused of trying to use his power and influence as the Chief of Staff to bestow the Traditional  Royal Stool to his brother.
