Is never a good time for criminals abetting criminality in Correctional center, Lafia, Ministry of Justice, and their accomplices were involved in the release of inmates illegally have met their waterloo.

The syndicates include one Wakili, a son to a titleholder in Lafia Traditional Council who was working with the State Ministry of Justice as a casual staff serving under Justice Aisha in High court 2 and who was fingered as the prime suspect.

Wakili, it was learned was good in sneaking out production warrant to release suspect with the help of staff of Correction center, Police, Justice Ministry staff.

Those involved in fraudulent activities have been causing confusion to the judicial system for years by releasing high profile criminals who were involved in culpable homicide, rape case, and armed robbery.

The bubble burst, according to the Chief Registrar of High Court who was directed by the Chief Judge to brief Journalists explained that one amongst those detained at the custody of secret police confessed of masterminding the illegal release of a suspect from Correctional center in Lafia.

He maintained that an in-law to a man that was in custody in Correctional center charged for culpable homicide was seen at Masaka Market, in Karu Local Government of the state and he raised alarm leading to the arrest of the culprit who killed his wife in presence of his mother-in-law who was wrongly released from Lafia Correction center and was brought back to High court 2 before Honorable Justice Aisha.

“When Aisha asked the prime suspect whose antics was to remove high profile cases, by hiding case files confesses for his involvement in the matter”.

“The  Chief Registrar, Ahmed Sani averred that about four inmates were wrongly released for culpable homicide, there are other two cases of armed robbery, raping, and murder,” said the registrar of High court.

Also amongst the conspirators is the prime suspect in High Court 2 under the lordship of Justice Aisha whose stock in trade is to collect a huge amount of money from the family of inmates by signing genuine production warrant papers to secure their release at all cost.

It was gathered that two of the syndicates are cooling their head in the custody of the secret police; an insider said they were in the custody of the sister agency due to the Federal Government directive not to bring new inmates in the Correctional center due to COVID-19 scourge.

Luck ran out of the errand boy to Justice Aisha who it was learned releases hardened criminals with cases of culpable homicide and two robbery cases, all missing at the Correctional Center.

Impeccable source from the High Court unveiled that the bubble burst when the Presiding Judge of High Court 2 ordered that one of the criminals that killed his brother’s wife be brought to court but unfortunately the man has been released.

Other astonishing cases were the release of two inmates serving their jail terms over robbery cases.

Onlookers continued to ask questions as all the papers signed were the genuine signature of Justice Aisha as tongue continued to wag why didn’t she cross-checked the papers presented to her whether it was genuine or falsified documents.

Other people are of the opinions that the ongoing may be a cogwheel to the dream of Justice Aisha to be the next Chief Judge whom her aspiration to step into the shoe of the Chief Judge, Justice Suleiman Umar Dikko whose tenure will elapse by December 2020 and if anybody should write a petition against her then her chances of being the next Chief Judge, who will happen to be the first female Chief Judge in the State would be a shattered dream.

The Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Abdulkarim Kana confirmed the matter, saying two of the syndicates are in the custody of the secret police.

“They supposed to be in the Correctional center but because of COVID-19 scourge, the authority was directed not to receive new inmates”.

According to him,” before we are blaming Judges but is not their fault for missing case files rather it was the despatch man that was carrying out his devilish act”.

He said the happening foisted him to earmark a huge amount of money for the purchase of cupboards and wardrobe with lock for the safekeeping of files.
