Soon-to-be caretaker committee chairmen in Bauchi State have been made to allegedly cough out N1 million each before their name will be penciled down for the position of manning the office of their respective local government areas.

According to information available to universalreporter247.com, from an assembly source, the Bauchi State APC Chairman, and one Ali Kumo has allegedly forced persons who have their names of the list of caretaker committee chairmen to pay the sum of N1 million each or risk their names removed from the list which has been approved by the governor.

Speaking to universalreporters247.com a source in Bauchi House of Assembly who pleaded anonymity told this medium that the duo of Ali Kumo and Bauchi State APC Chairman, forced the committee caretaker chairmen to pay the sum of N1 Million before their names will be on the list, and as such the persons complied.

“However, we at the assembly got prior knowledge of this alleged act of impunity by this two persons even before the list was submitted to the State Assembly for approval, and this made us reject the list, and the list was returned,” the Assembly source said.

“But curiously we gathered that when this list was returned to them, Uba Nana allegedly wrote an undertaking asking members of the Assembly to sign with a bribe of a return ticket for the 2019 State Assembly Election in their respective constituencies as well as other juicy incentives. This undertaking letter was brought to the House by Hon. Yunusa Ahmed, the Member Warji constituency.” Universalreporters247.com further learnt that Hon. Yunusa, who is representing Uba Nana’s constituency, is actually his foot soldier in Bauchi State House of Assembly.

Universalreporters247.com also learnt that, some members of the House of Assembly have already signed the undertaking letter, while some have vowed not to sign it while saying the needed right thing must be done, and that they won’t allow impunity to continue in the State.

“What I can tell you is that these two people, Uba Nana and Ali Kumo and the Governor, Mohammed Abubakar are just using each other to get what they want. In fact, this is how they have been running the government,” our source said.
