Executive Secretary Plateau Muslim Pilgrim Board Promises To Justify Confidence On His Appointment

The Muslim Pilgrims board newly appointed Executive Secretary Barr. Auwal Abdullahi has said, he will justify confidence given him by Governor Simon Bako Lalong in revamping and rehabilitating the Muslim board to be one of the best in the country.

 

Speaking to our correspondent at the Muslim board headquarters in Jos North Local Government he said the challenges of all the government agencies is for them to solicit the cooperation of a sundry to the up with their members of the boards and install sanity to improve the facilities .

 

He stated that he is the Executive Secretary, while that of the Christian pilgrims’ board has, Rev. George Gorap, as its Executive Secretary.

 

Auwal Abdullahi maintained that since they are inaugurated they have organize series of meeting with them to clarify and define their position so that their will not be cross carpeting of boundaries of duties.

 

Meanwhile, a State Lawmaker Hon. Ibrahim Baba Hassan, has while appreciating Governor Lalong, for careful selection of the Muslims pilgrim Executive Secretary and his board members, expressed hope that they will work in, “synergy to give the board and pilgrims the best of services.”

 

He felicitated with them and urged the People of the State to accord all the necessary suoport.

 

Chairmen and members of the reconstituted boards and parastatals have been urged to stay away from the executive functions of boards, as they are only, “part time members.”

 

Secretary to the Government of Plateau State (SGS), Hon. Rufus Bature, disclosed this yesterday while inaugurating boards and members of the State Muslim Pilgrims welfare board, the State Christian pilgrims welfare board, and others under the supervisions of deputy Governor and Secretary to the Government of the State.

 

He said as board chairmen and members carefully selected are part time members that can only have business when they have meeting in the board.

 

According to Bature, the decision by Governor, Simon Lalong, was to spell out the duties of each sectors of Governance and, “is to avoid the repeat of past mistakes, where members will go to seat in the boards.”

 

Bature, tasked the Executive Secretaries, chairmen and members of the pilgrims boards to work towards successful conduct of the religious obligations.

 

He said good performances and selfless service, driven by transparency and accountability are what the Governor and people of the expecting from them.
