Ahead of the 2023 general election, a coalition of Ex-National union of Bauchi State Students (Ex-NUBASS), Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa have endorsed Hon. Iliya Godiya Wakil for office of House of Representative.
The coordinator of the group, comrade Abubakar Nafiu Musa made the endorsement while speaking at a meeting on Wednesday in Bauchi.
The coalition expressed the belief that Hon Godiya is capable of replacing former speaker of the house of representatives, Yakubu Dogara who is also the current occupier of the seat.
They pointed out that their candidate is the only solution to the myriads of challenges bedeviling the people of Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa federal constituency.
Comrade Abubakar, who said that the group comprises grassroots Supporters for Wakil, pointed out that members of the group cut across the three Local Government Areas that made up the constituency.
Nafiu also insisted that Hon Godiya should declare his interest to run for the House of Representatives position for Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa federal constituency.
While describing their preferred candidate as a detribalized man and a man of peace with zero religious and ethnic difference, the Coordinator maintained that Wakil’s good work, dedication, humility stands him exceptional to run for the seat.
The group said that the track record of achievements of Hon Iliya Wakil as a vibrant young politician in the constituency who has always been sponsoring less privileged in terms of settling their medical bills is no doubt, a plus to his credibility.
The group also noted with keen interest, Wakil’s philanthropic gesture in paying school fees for students in some universities, colleges, polytechnics as well as provision of foodstuff to the needy, particularly in the month of August.
“Such gesture has no doubt stand him out as an ideal person fit for the House of Representatives seat of the three LGs come 2023”, the group noted.
“We are now calling on him to accept and come out and declare his intention to seek for the House of Representatives position in 2023. We are going to equally pay him a Courtesy visit soon to formally present our demands before him”, they assured.
Comrade Abubakar said that the entire people of the constituency are ever ready and willing to give him full Support both physically and financially as soon as he succumbed to their demand.
