An ex-aide to former speaker Yakubu Dogara, Hon Markus Bitrus Lusa has defected to the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP)
Honorable Markus Bitrus Lusa announced this on Friday when answering questions from newsmen in his home place, Lusa at Bogoro local government area in Bauchi.
The former aide categorically explained the reason for the defection. In his word, ” I defected for two reasons, one, my home town lacks the basic amenities of life. My former boss did not think it fit to link my village Lusa with the main road in which we’re in dire need of; one cannot manipulate people because we all have our minds and the determinants to choose our paths.
Bitrus, further said: “Most people believed that Bogoro is in the hands of the APC. That is far from the truth. Those are cheer fantasy talk,” he concluded.
Secondly, the former Chairman said his defection to the PDP is to support the Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed Kaura for his kind thought to my people. And my defection has nothing to do with my relationship with Dogara. Of course, my relationship with the former speaker Dogara was that he is Basayi by tribe like me. That’s all. Nothing more.”
When asked that Dogara was his political godfather? He reported, “Politically, Dogara and I run a parallel politics. I chose to be in the PDP out of my own accord. I didn’t join the PDP because of him, as one is made to believe.
I’m a political figure in my own right without a godfather. My godfathers are the electorates. I feel enchanted by the leadership qualities of Governor Bala Mohammed. He is doing a good and wonderful job in Bauchi State despite the economic recession biting the economy. He,, however, said politics is all about a game of choice by every individual.
