The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) said the shift of the general election by INEC is an indication of threat to the nascent democracy, just as it urge FG and INEC to put hold. To any further postponement saying 29th May must be respected as official day for handing over to new government as enshrine in the country’s constitution
Professor Ango Abdullahi the spokesman of the forum made the statement in Bauchi on  Friday as he said that there exist sinister scenarios being hatched by the ruling elite to scuttle 2015 elections aimed to derail democratic institutions in the best interest of Nigerians
NEF allege massive use of public funds to bribe voters and INEC officials officiating elections regretting harrowing intimidation and harassment of the opposition evidence in Rivers, Kano, Lagos states.
It laments that FG refusal to accept the modernization of ballot process is a ploy to rig elections
According to the forum, the idea of interim government is unconstitutional saying is only intended to scuttle smooth transition of governance

NEF therefore describe as false for INEC to link election postponement to insecurity and  PVC,
