- As Middlebelt Youth commends Lagos Assembly over anti-open grazing bill
The tinted image of President Muhammadu Buhari’s, the government has continued getting darker, as his strong supporters are becoming critics of his faded administration.
Governor Nasir El-rufai, of Kaduna state one of the Frontline supporters of the president on Wednesday, launched an attack on the Buhari’s government, accusing the president of slowing down northwest governors’ security efforts to tackle insecurity in the region.
The Kaduna state governor is the second All Progressive Congress ( APC) governor of the North to attack Buhari’s government over poor security architect of the administration.
Buhari home state Katsina governor, Mr. Bello Masari, recently took the federal government to the cleaners over the persistence and sluggish manner the administration is handling insecurity in the country.
El-Rufia who spoke on Channels Television on Wednesday said that Buhari’s government has not done enough to end insecurity in the region.
The two APC governors from the north are now students of Governor Ortom’s messages to Buhari over the president’s failed government in tackling insecurity in the country, especially in the middle belt.
In another development the Middlebelt Youth Forum has commended the Lagos State Assembly for passing into law the anti-open grazing law, saying that the lawmakers have demonstrated love for their people.
The spokesman of the group Mr. Godwin Gang, in a statement, said that the Benue state governor Samuel Ortom should be celebrated for showing Nigerians the way forward by kick-starting the Anti-open grazing law.
He pointed out that Lagos State the commercial heart of Nigeria to join Ortom’s security blueprint speaks volumes of the Benue state governor’s high leadership quality and his undying love for his people.
On Value Added Tax ( VAT) he said that Rivers and Lagos states have taken the right steps to address federal government injustice in the sharing formula of the revenue generated by states.
“How can Kano state, Jigawa, Zamfara, Sokoto, and other northern states banned alcohol and still shared revenue accrued from the sales of alcohol? If other States, ban sales of alcohol will there be money from that sector to share?” he asked.
He urged all middle belt states, southeast, Southwest, and South-south States to join Rivers and Lagos states to address the injustice of Buhari’s government on the sharing formula of revenue.
