The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke has described the Eid Al-Udha festival as a celebration of faith and sacrifice in obedience to the will of Allah.
In a felicitation message sent to all Muslims, Senator Adeleke noted that the ‘ileya’ festival is an occasion to rededicate ourselves in service of Almighty Creator, calling on Muslims and non-Muslims “to reinforce their faith in God despite difficult challenges and travails of this era.
“Let continue to persevere and hold tight to our faith in God that soon and very soon, He will reward us with divine blessings and joyful liberation. Our sacrifices will not be in vain”, he said.
Senator Adeleke also linked significance of the festival to reunion of old friends and families on annual basis, urging all faithful to pray for the peace and prosperity of the state and country at large.
“Let us pray for our state. Let us pray for our country. Let us seek divine intervention for the prevalence of God’s will in our government and private life”, the PDP candidate said.
