Eggon Youth Movement Offers Free Medicare To Over 1000 Residents

The Eggon Youths Movement has taken a bold steps to carry all and sundry along by introducing free medical treatment to over 1000 persons.

The Chairman of Youth Movement, Peter Yohana, Chairman Akwanga branch, disclosed this during  the commencement of a one-day medical outreach in the area.

The movement is to offer free testing, counselling and treatment on hepatitis, B and C, HIV, blood pressure and sugar, among others.

Yohana said that the group came up with these free medical services to assist the needy in order to improve their health and standard of living.

According to him,“ As you can see, the tests and drugs will be administered and given free of charge, and everything we are doing is free of charge.

“The medical outreach was designed to assist the downtrodden who do not have the means to access medical care, hence the need for the free medical treatment in order to improve on their standard and health status.

“It is also to educate and sensitize the members of the public on the need to take their health with all seriousness because a healthy nation is a wealthy nation.

“The aim of the organization is to bringing healthcare services closer to the people especially those at the grassroots.

He called on the people of the state and Nigerians to always give attention to their health by going for regular medical checkup.

The Chairman added that he has also set machinery in motion to work out modalities to intervene in other areas.

“We want to sponsor orphans on vocational training on different skills to make their lives meaningful despite the death of their parents,” said the Chairman.

Responding, Some of the beneficiaries, Ladi Kaki Joseph Kachala,  Saidu Bako commended EYM for the gesture and called for its sustenance.

The free medical services were organized in collaboration with Bicon of Youths Initiative, and Heartland Foundation.
