EFCC Storms Bauchi, Goes After Yuguda, Others

yugudaThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has currently shifted its search light to Bauchi in an effort unearth allege mismanagement of funds during eight years of Yuguda’s administration.

This is as this medium learnt that the anti-graft agency are said are already on the hunt of past political office holders in the last regime of former governor Yuguda and other corrupt political appointees during his  tenure following several petitions from stakeholders in the state

A source at the Bauchi government house who confided on universalreporters247.com told this medium that a Permanent Secretary at the Government House who served with Yuguda was recently quizzed for interrogation by the EFCC.

The source added that, several of the former cabinet members who served under Yuguda have been reporting to Gombe state where EFCC Zonal office is located for thorough interrogation.

It was also gathered that the EFCC have been visiting Bauchi state since the emergence of the APC administration in response to the demand from stakeholders to probe the past administration of Yuguda for allege mismanagement of colossal amount of funds meant for development of the State.

Governor Abubakar Mohammed had said, APC administration is not living any stone unturned to trace all funds looted by corrupt officials during Yuguda’s tenure to restore economic stability.

The governor had accused the PDP for creating economic impoverishment among the people even with the resultant consequence of poverty, insecurity adding that APC is out to rekindle the hope and past glory of people.

It was also learn that the EFCC may be facing challenges on how to track down some culprits as most of them have flee the state for fear of being arrested and are said to be using devices to dodge the agency’s official.

This may not be unconnected to the reason why the current APC administration in Bauchi state had raised an alarm earlier to have inherited over N150 billion debt from Yuguda’s administration and vows to trace same.

Governor Mohammed had decry that the level of things seen on ground as what the past administration Yuguda as dividends of democracy  does not in any way  commensurate with the amount the past administration  collected from the federal government throughout the past  eight years.

It will be recalled that Governor Mohammed recently constituted a committee to recover every all funds allegedly siphoned by the past government, it is also on note that the committee was made up of EFCC, Police, SSS, and other security organistaions.
