The Ecuadorian Embassy has inaugurated its Abuja Press Room as named it Petita Palma.
The investiture ceremony Wednesday 7th September 2016, Ambassador of Ecuador to Nigeria H.E Leopoldo Rovayo inaugurates the Embassy’s Press Room otherwise known as Situation Room that will allow Journalist access the internet and cable TV to expedite their work and exchange of notes.
Ambassador addressing the members of Diplomatic Correspondent Association said the Press Room will be called PETITA PALMA – an Afro descendant woman from the Province of Esmeraldas Ecuador who worked to preserve the music, culture and dance of Esmeraldas. Mrs. Palma, who had receive the National Prize Eugenio Espejo, also admires and defends the traditional music of Afro descendant root as well as promote cultural association called HOT LAND.
In a telephone conversation between the Ambassador and her son – Alberto Castillo Palma, the family accepted the Embassy of Ecuador naming the Press Room after Mrs. Palma’s for the opening of the Press Room facility in Nigeria.
