Dr. Oluchi Kalu Resumes Duty As Acting National Librarian

Dr. Mrs. Oluchi Kalu on Monday 2nd August 2021 resumed duty as the Ag. National Librarian/CEO of the National Library of Nigeria, this follows the end of the tenure of Professor Lennie Olatokunbo Aina last weekend.

During a brief handover ceremony held on Friday 30th, July 2021, Dr. Kalu as the most senior Staff and Director of, Virtual Library Service Department, of the National Library took over the helms of affairs of the organization.

In a statement signed by Vershima Orvell-Dio, the Acting Head, PRD, the statement reads thus; ‘Kalu who is a certified Librarian, joined the services of the National Library of Nigeria, in 1989, who rose through the ranks to become a Director.”

She has previously held different positions in the organization such as Head of Section, Branch, and Division.

Dr. Kalu is expected to bring her wealth of experience as a Certified Librarian to bear in running the affairs of the organization.
