Former INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue State Dr. Nentanwe Yilwatda has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial primary in Plateau State, as crisis rock the Governorship Primaries with some aspirants stage a walkout of the congress.
Dr. Nentawe polled a total of 803 votes to beat three other aspirants.
Nine Aspirants were in the race, however before voting commenced, some of the Aspirants sent in their letters of withdrawal from the contest.
According to the Chairman of the electoral Committee, Hon. Habu Ajiya, those who withdrew from the contest include, Sunday Garba Biggs, Dr. Sarpiya Danyaro, Sen. Hezekiah Dimka and Arch. Steve Fitka.
The Deputy Governor, Professor Sonni Tyoden, Dr. Patrick Dakum and David Dimka had also staged a walk out just before voting commenced.
The Governorship Primaries of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau State was marred by irregularities,impunity, and imposition of Dr Nentawe Yilwatda which spark off riff .
According to aggrieved aspirants, the entire process is lacking credibility and didn’t follow the due process which might rob them of their victory.
The outcome of the primaries was alleged to have been doctored and Exco of the APC was sidelines completely at the time of filing this report.
The allegations that the power that be has already decided the results of the election, as the exercise is a mere smoke screen.
It took the intervention of the security agent comprising the police, and civil defense to calm nerves.
Similarly, our reporter was at St Luke’s primary school venue for the state house of Assembly,the entrance in the venue of the exercise was under lock and key with some security men at the gate disallowed our Reporter entry into the venue.
