DPR Urges Petroleum Marketers To Adhere To Rules And Regulations Guarding Their Businesses

The operations controller of Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) Gombe field office Mr. Abdullahi Abawa has called on petroleum marketers and LPG operators in Gombe to prioritize safety while performing their legitimate functions.

 

He made the called in Gombe in an interview with Journalists during a maiden stakeholders meeting organized by the field office to sensitized them on the need to operate safety in their day to day activities

 

He said experiences of grievous incidents in the industry are course by human errors that led the field office to organized a training inorder to enlighten the marketers to take a step in ensuring that things are done in an orderly manner.

 

Also speaking at the DPR conference which has participants from IPMAN,  LPG operator and other Government Agencies in Gombe, the Head of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Dr Musa Mohammed Zagi, who was represented by Fatima Usman, urged the stakeholders to watch out and key into MISTDO (Minimum Industry Safety Training for Downstream Operators) an initiative aimed at establishing training centers across the country.

 

He said: “MISTDO is just to ensure that players in the sector are adequately trained and made to understand the hazard involved in their job and to be able carryout necessary action required should unfortunate incident occurred”
