PDP To APC Don’t Deceive Nigerians With Reforms Jamboree -Arc Nanchang Jatau Insecurity Our Problem

A Chieftain of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Architect Nanchang Jatau has lambasted the All Progressives Congress, APC, government for organizing a political jamboree on how to waste Nigeria’s public funds under the guise of constitutional review and electoral reform for Senators and House of Reps members.

 

He disclosed this during the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria committee on the review of the 1999 constitution at the zonal public hearing at Crispan Hotels, Jos South LGA

 

The present government has been deceiving Nigerians since they came on board on the issue of electoral reform in 2019 but two years to another general election nothing has been done about it, he said.

 

Arc Nanchang revealed that the government deceived Nigerian about the electoral reform, now where is the digital electronic voting, Mr. President you promised to improve the electoral system, you have lied on your oath of office, Mr.  President won’t complete this review or else planning to sleep the whole reports under the carpets with this few years remaining tenure in office.

 

He told journalists that the APC campaign slogan in 2019 was to implement the electoral act which is still pending but when we have many commissions of inquiries set up to produce another constitution to replace that of 1999 that are not implemented.

 

Jatau explained that many Nigerian are eager to see a better constitution, but the exercise here is quite misleading to divert the attention instance of addressing the current insecurity in the country.

 

He also alleged that the ongoing exercise tailoring towards the plot to use it for rigging ahead of 2023, we now foresee presidency agenda of remaining in office.

 

We saw that 2 years after the 2019 election the electronic voting has not been passed into law which is long overdue so we are asking you to sign it into law, and Nigerians are tired of waiting for the new electoral act.
