Don’t Be Facebook Critics, Governor Lalong Advises Plateau Politicians

Governor Simon Bako Lalong has begged Plateau people to stop using Facebooks to criticize his government as he asked them to stop listening to voices of enemies who instigate crisis to tear the unity of the state.

Addressing the Christian Association of Nigeria Plateau state chapter he urged church leaders should to be God fearing as well using their God giving talents, time positively in proclaiming, educating and telling the truth not just to the authority but to their congregation.

Lalong told CAN that there are challenges of understanding the issues of grazing reserves and ranching but for the sake of posterity ,clarification the current position and intentions of the government on this matter he said gazing reserves are simply tracts of land acquired ,developed and reserved or set aside for farmers or nomads to use in grazing their livestock or domesticated animals ,while ranch or livestock production center is a plot or piece of land dedicated to raising any livestock within a large area and or even at a backyard.

The Governor lamented that the propaganda by some people who have chosen to politicize this issue, this government has never initiated the establishment or creation of grazing reserves.

According to him, the inherited April 2009 gazette 2009 by the former Governor Jonah David Hang which recognized and established grazing reserves in Plateau state and he approved budgetary allocations to effect the development.

He pointed out that the administration didn’t embrace the concept of grazing reserves as solution to abating the series of clashes ,in view of the fact that in this 21st century and modern times ,they are outdated ,unacceptable and recurrent recipe for crises as we have been witnessing .

“We presented our score card in the light of gains and success such as engendering peace ,hope and harmony amongst the citizenry ,imitating and executing new projects across the three geo political zones of the state “, he explained.

He noted that the challenges inherited, spirit of continuity in governance with respect to completing some abandoned projects is worrisome our concern now to see complete work in the spirit developing the state.
