Doma Council Boss Lauds Olam Rice Farm For The  Reconstruction  of Rukubi-Akpanaja-Benue Border Road

The Executive Chairman of Doma Local Government Council, Honorable Jonathan Okuba Addra has applauded the largest rice Farm in Africa,Olam Rice Farm Rukubi for the reconstruction of Rukubi-Akpanaja-Benue Border road.

The Chairman gave the hint during an interview with selected Journalists in his entourage to Olam Rice Farm Rukubi on Thursday.

“Is not surprising to see us,I mean Doma Local Government heavyweight,We were at Olam Rice Farm Rukubi  following a letter requesting us to come and inspect the ongoing road reconstruction .

“What Olam Rice Farm did and they are doing is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility,Not withstanding the Local Government will intervene in addressing the road especially those two bad portions ohe at Kure Makaranta and the box culvert after Akpanaja ,and in this regard as well calling on the State and Federal Government to accord support”.

“Olam invited me with a letter as the Executive Chairman of Doma Local Government to come and inspect the ongoing reconstruction of road”.

The Chief Agronomists ,Dr Umar Ismaila in an interview with selected Journalists at the border town of Benue and Nasarawa State affirmed that the reconstruction work of the 35Km road will reduce insecurity to the barest minimum as well enhanced socio-economic activities.

Dr Umar however added that the reconstruction of the road remains the co’operate Social responsibility of Olam Rice Farm, enhance food security .

“The road we started was like foot path that only motorcycle can use,but today you are seeing a better road.

The two portions we have issues along the road was a box culvert  after Akpanaja and Kure-Makaranta which was a wooden bridge.
