DG NYSC Commends Ganduje For The Tremendous Contributions To NYSC

The Governor of Kano State Abdullahi Ganduje on Friday the 27th day of January 2017 received a courtesy call by the Director General of NYSC Brig. Gen. Sulaiman Kazaure and members of his entourage at the Government House Kano.

The DG of NYSC said they’re in Kano to witness the swearing in of this year’s batch as well as embark on a familiarization tour of the camp in Karaye and to also meet with other stakeholders in the state. The DG also commended the governor for the tremendous contributions to the NYSC and also urged the governor to construct additional hostel to accommodate the growing number of those serving in the State as well as the state to look into the issue of allowances of NYSC members.

On his part, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR thanked the DG of NYSC and his entourage for the visit, and also commended the DG for the successes recorded under his leadership.

He further stated that his government takes NYSC programme as a serious programme. He recalled his days of service as a corper back in 1975 to present day Benue.

He also oversaw the affairs of NYSC while he was a Director at FCDA and said that during his reign as a deputy governor for 8yrs he was assigned the responsibility of handling the activities of NYSC.

The governor also said that he has directed the commissioner for local governments to submit a memo for the state to take over the payment of allowances from local governments for prompt payment and has also directed the commissioner for information to liaise with his counterpart of works to ensure that additional hostel is constructed at the camp in Karaye.
