This serves as a reminder to beneficiaries of the Badakoshi tractor loan scheme under the leadership of the past Governor of Nasarawa State, Aliyu Akwe Doma, the state commissioner of agriculture and water resource has disclosed.
Hon.Yusuf Aliyu Lawee hinted this in an interview with Journalists saying the ministry will not condone such an illegality, adding further, he said that the current Government would ensure that all defaulters pay back within the possible time.
The commissioner asserted that the approach of the state Governor is to get rid of anomalies committed during tractor loan by the previous administration,Lawee disclosed that defaulters must back the tractor loan or faced sanction.
Yusuf Lawee said is not going to be business as usual for none farmers and middlemen diverting fertilizer for selfish reasons,He further affirmed that the State Government would adopt head count of core farmers in the state so as to avoid a replicate of what transpires in the previous administration under Aliyu Akwe Doma where farmers were relegated to the background.
Commenting on the distribution of fertilizer to farmers during this wet season,Hon.Yusuf Aliyu Lawee disclosed that one hundred (100) trailers of fertilizer would be distributed to farmers this wet season.
Speaking on the rising spate of water pollution in the state,The commissioner warned fisherman to always avoid the use of fish poisoning ,Saying the consumption of fish caught from dynamite and chemicals is dangerous to people’s health.
He cautioned farmers in the state to apply precautionary measures in the use of herbicide,The Hon.commissioner debunked the clue given by the state chairman of NLC,Comrade Abdullahi Adeka over his comment that the state ministry of Agriculture has the least number of workforce as untrue.
It could be recalled that Comrade Adeka during the recent strike action embarked by the organized labour confided that the state ministry of Agriculture and Water resource is under staff,Saying is untrue.
