Debt Management Office Plays Host To Online Publishers

The Debt Management Office,Abuja on Friday October 02,2015, played host to members of the online community at the Best western hotel, Ikeja,Lagos.

In attendance was the Director General, Dr.Abraham Nwankwo, Directors in the Debt Management Office, Staffers of the Debt Management Office, Online publishers and reporters who represented various media houses.

Delivering his keynote address, the Director General of the Debt Management Office, had charged Journalists, and stated that, they were strategic partners in the growth of the Nigerian economy.

He also said that the online media is an emerging force to be reckoned with in the global world.

Directors in the agency, also spoke on the different roles the DMO plays in Nigeria which includes, issuance of eurobond, processes and procedures for debt borrowing and settlement, understanding public debt management, and the highlights of DMO’s achievements in sub National debt.

Journalists were also taken through the processes of understanding public debt.

The DG pointed out that DMO is an open agency, which is always ready to partner with stakeholders in achieving its aims and objectives.

He had also stressed that, information on public debt that involves states, can be found on the DMO’s website and it is never hidden.

In his response, the president of the corporate online publishers, Mr.Malachy Agbo assured the DG that the media is always ready to partner with the organization, and any other agency, in relating the proper information to the public
