DASH Carry Out Blood Transfusion To Federal University Of Lafia

The Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital Lafia in a move to prevent heart attack and other related diseases like hypertension has embarked on the screening and blood transfusion at the Federal University of Lafia.

 

The Chairman Blood Transfusion Committee, Dr.Bello Surajudden has emphasized on the need periodic blood donation.

 

He said the essence of the exercise is to reduce fatigue, to know ones Hiv and Aids status, one to know his blood group, know his genotype and to give one a clear cut health status.

 

He attributed sudden death with related cases of cardio vascular diseases are heart attack cases.

 

Dr.Surajudeen reiterated on the need to donate blood with the intent of saving peoples lives.

 

 

The two days blood transfusion witnessed a mammoth crowd including students, Journalists and staff of DASH.

 

In a related development, the tertiary health institution has conducted free screening exercise on members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Nasarawa state Council numbering fifty.

 

The Chief Medical Director, Dr.Ikram Hassan said the collaborative effort is for media practitioners to know their health status considering the work load of Journalists.

 

Stating that the tertiary hospital would work in synergy with the Nigeria Union of Journalists as partners in progress.
