The former Minister For Sports and Youth Development to President Muhammadu Buhari, Barr. Solomon Selcap Dalung has said, that the present hardship experienced in the country, shows that we are heading towards disaster, and not too long the country may be in a terrible disaster.
Speaking with our Reporter at his residence over his ugly experience as he encountered a delay in accessing medical attention in Jos, he said the masses of the country suffering would suffer from the collapse of the health care services because of their inability to render services due to the current electricity tariffs.
Dalung stated it is unfortunate that Nigeria has everything but the only thing Nigeria is lacking is leadership, 90% of Nigeria’s leaders are not from Nigeria their families are not here their children are not here even if they’re here, they’re annexed to nothing to do with Public institutions their children are out of the country are living in their houses they bought there outside the country as they followed suit.
He lamented that calling on him to speak to them to do something about the situation is like talking to a deaf man because it doesn’t affect them.
Dalung condemned that the leaders in Nigeria only use Public offices to raise their required funds to sustain their lifestyle.
According to him, their houses here in Nigeria have been turned into tax collection offices, you see their houses are either in Dubai, Europe, America, or elsewhere in the world, so you asking me to talk to Nigerians about what to do about the health care system in Nigeria is more of less is waste of energy, for posterity there is an urgent need for Government to prioritize the health care delivery service and also look at the education.
Solomon Dalung raised the alarm that the number of out-of-school Children is already a threat to the future and if something is not done, these out-of-school children will create an environment that is going to consume everybody.
He called on the government in the interests of Nigeria’s safety, to address urgently the economy so that the country will not be consumed by the tsunami of hungry, angry bitter people who will have realized that they have been shortchanged for too long.
