Cult Clash Leaves Four Dead In Plateau

The Plateau Police Command has said that at least four persons were killed in a clash between rival cult groups in the State.

The Command said the clash happened in Kwata Community of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Tyopev Matthias Terna ,the Police Public Relations Officer Plateau State Command, in a statement made available to journalists in Jos, disclosed how on the 02/01/2019 at about 1930hrs, the Plateau State Police Command, Jos received a distress call to the effect that unknown  Cult Groups armed with cutlasses, axe and guns attacked themselves near a Night Club at Kwata Zawan in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

As a result of the attack, four (4) persons were instantly killed.

According to him, the deceased corpses of the victims have been deposited at the Plateau Specialist Hospital Mortuary for Autopsy.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command CP Austin Agbonlahor has directed the immediate commencement of investigation in to the crime

Plateau State capital is gradually overtaken by the activities of cultism where persons are killed in broad day light in Apata  ,Ungwan Rogo ,Jenta ,Kabong,Farim Gada ,Rukuba road just to mention a few.

This medium gathered that since the crises of 2001 the state had continued to witness high rate of prostitution, armed robbery, drugs addiction and cultism in both Christian and Muslim communities in the state.

However, many unidentified youths takes advantage of the political upheaval to perpetrate all manner of heinous crimes in the name of safeguarding their community.
