The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State, North East Nigeria, is currently experiencing crisis and division among its members following the alleged suspension of a prominent politician and a founding member of the party, Alhaji Bala Tinka.
Indications emerging suggest that the growing crisis may require the intervention of the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
A reliable source told LEGISREPORTS that the state’s Deputy Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Nasiru Mohammed Aliyu and Secretary, Usman Buba Shanu, have already embarked on moves to refer the matter to the party’s national headquarters in Abuja sequel to an emergency meeting held.
When contacted on phone by newsmen, the Deputy Chairman could not be reached but the Secretary, Alhaji Usman Buba Shanu who answered his own call, however refused to disclose details of the suspension.
Usman however made persistent efforts demanding to know what Bala Tinka told the press.
At the party Secretariat, some of the State executive members who were seen in the premises, also refused to speak with the press.
However, LEGISREPORTS gathered that a suspension letter was issued through Alhaji Bala Tinka’s party ward chairman.
Reacting to already circulating reports of his suspension by the PDP in Gombe State, Alhaji Bala Tinka, who doubles as the Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of Tinka Points Nigeria Limited, and a major funding member of the party, told newsmen that he had not been officially handed any suspension letter from the party.
Further investigations carried out to confirm the alleged claim of Tinka’s suspension by the PDP ward Chairman of Dukku in Kwami Local Government area, Alhaji Babayo Gafara, met a brick-wall as he refused to so do.
On the contrary, the Local Government Party Chairman, Alhaji Kawu Dukku confirmed to LEGISREPORTS that the suspension letter on Tinka was received by one of his Managers named Salisu.
He explained further that the State Executives had sat and directed that all state and ward chairmen of the PDP issue the same suspension letter to all executive members of the Neighbour to Neighbour Organization from the State.

The instruction so do not only stopped at the state level, but was also extended to members of the organization at the Local Governments and ward levels.
This, the state Executive of the PDP maintained was necessary pending when  investigations bothering on the activities of the Neighbour to Neighbour Organization is concluded.
A reliable source from the party however revealed that the State Executives of the party are becoming jittery over the activities of the neighbor to neighbor organization that has been campaigning and promoting the activities of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo.
According to the source, the neighbor to neighbor organization has been having problems with the State Executives of the PDP because they have not been carried along in the Neighbor to Neighbor activities, one that is viewed as a concept of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration which cannot be accepted in the state, especially among the majority of Northern senatorial zones owing to the President’s unpopular posture.
