Crisis Rocks Imo Assembly, As 22 Members Boycott Sitting, Accuses Speaker Of Conniving With Gov. To Pad Budget, Passes Vote of No Confidence on The Governor

Barely less than 24 hours aftermath of the 2020 fiscal budget presentation of the Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, only five house members were present at yesterday’s plenary whereas the other 22 other members boycotted the session over alleged financial deceit by the Speaker, Rt.Hon.Chiji Collins, who was fingered and accused of conniving with the Governor to deceive in the allowance of the budget presentation of the whopping sum of over N197b.

At the seating on Thursday, less than five 5 House of Assembly members including the Speaker honored the plenary as 22 others refused and walked away.

It was gathered that the Governor refused to drop the seating allowance yesterday after the budget presentation.

Most of the members failed to appear in yesterday’s sitting, whereas only less than four members including Speaker on the House appeared.

It was confirmed that only three (3) members and the Speaker were only present at yesterday’s sitting.

Our Reporter also disclosed that the bold and aggrieved House members expressed sadness and dissatisfaction over the yesterday’s game plan, according to some of them who spoke unanimously, as they alleged deceit by the Rebuild Mission Governor.

It could be recalled that the House 22 members have also passed a Vote of no Confidence on Governor Emeka Ihedioha.
