Crisis Hits APC In Kanam Plateau, As Party Members Decamp In Mass To ADC

A political crisis has hit the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kanam Local Government Area, LGA, forcing aggrieved stakeholders to abandon the party to African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Plateau state.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate of Kanam Local Government Council, Hon Abubakar Musa has said the crisis rocking the All Progressive Congress (APC) in  Kanam was responsible for mass decamping of APC members to ADC.

Speaking shortly after the consensus candidates’ affirmation across the 17 Local Government Council, Hon Musa told media that the basic principles that led him to join ADC are to ensure that his people benefits from the dividend of democracy.

He said the people of Kanam LGA are in urgent need of a grassroots mobilizer to transform the common man at the local level.

Musa stressed that he is contesting considering the recent performance of APC; “I personally know that some people will say if the party perform credibly well why abandoning the party to the ADC.

Adding further he said; “we are the founder of APC in Kanam LGA but due to the crisis rocking the party we decided to move because we don’t want pandemonium and political squabbles which will continue to affect us philosophically.”

‘It is like our politician is myopic in their thinking due to the fact that a good politician has to put the interest of the party first before his personal ideas if they are actually working for the prosperity of the community,” he added.

According to him, he appreciated all his party supporters by working towards complimenting their efforts if elected come 2018 LG poll.

Abubakar Musa commended Governor Simon Lalong and President Muhammadu Buhari for bringing peace on the Plateau and North East and prompt payment of workers salary.

He also used the opportunity to congratulate Mr. President for remaining resolute in fighting insurgency.

Musa emphasized that Kanam LGA will continue to pursue peace and tranquility as he said that peace is very paramount to the future of our Nigeria, “there can never be a sustainable democracy without peace and stability especially Plateau state that has undergone series of conflict.

He maintained that what the people of Plateau need now is to achieve total peace through transparent leadership which will focus more on a people-oriented program.

Musa promised to use his office if elected to provide an affordable health care good standard of education for his people.
