A policeman attached to the Rivers State Task Force on Decongestion, Sergeant Bitrus Osaiah, has shot dead a fellow Sergeant, Lovender Elekwachi.
The shooting incident occurred on Thursday while the Task Force was in operation in Eneka town, Obio-Akpo Local Government Area of the state.
Elekwachi was on duty as part of the team enforcing the lockdown order of the Rivers State Government following the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease in the state.

According to the statement, Osaiah is undergoing “orderly room trial”.
The Hilux van used by the Task Force for the operation has been impounded and the corpse of the female Sergeant deposited in the mortuary.
The Commissioner, Rivers State Police Command, Joseph G. Mukan, called for calm over the development.
