Gombe state Task Force Committee on COVID-19 has said they have recorded 3 more death which according to the taskforce 2 of the deceased are from Gombe while the other one was brought from Maiduguri in Borno state.
The chairman of the committee Prof. Idris Mohammed disclosed this while briefing Journalists on Wednesday.
He said so far 1,816 samples were carryout for testing, out of the number, 3 turned positive, and that 2 persons were discharged at Kwodon infectious disease hospital.
While emphasizing some challenges he said the state has 23 active cases of COVID-19 but added that the spread of the disease to communities is much as people go on their normal businesses.
The task force committee cannot do all these alone, adding that all hands must be on deck to avert the virus he said.
He called on the public to do as much as possible to support the committee to fight against the virus.
Prof. Mohammed also said that its committee will engage communities in sensitization programmes to educate them about the danger of the disease.
He decried the spread of the disease in communities which he said people should be more careful about the virus.
He advised the public not to hesitate to report suspected cases of COVID-19 to the committee even as he said the virus can be treated like any other disease.
