An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun, on Monday, remanded two persons – Kabiru Bala, 23 and Nazipi Mohamadu, 20 – over alleged assault.
The Prosecutor, Insp Ona Glory, told the court that the defendants had, on Dec. 13 around 3:00 p.m. at Olorunsogo Market area of Modakeke, conspired to commit assault.
Glory said that the defendants assaulted one Sanusi Abdullahi by harming him on his right hand
He said that the offences contravened Sections 355 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendants, who were not legally represented, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of conspiracy and assault.
The Magistrate, Abosede Sarumi, did not grant bail to the defendants but ordered their remand in Ile-Ife correctional centre, pending the consideration of their bail
Sarumi adjourned the case till Dec. 18 for mention.
