Cooperative Federation of Nigeria has organized a one Day sensitization workshop /Annually General meeting to brainstorm on job creation and challenges of unemployment.

The workshop was declared open by the Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong who was represented by his deputy Professor Sonni Tyoden at Hill station Hotel Jos Plateau state.

He said government recognizes the importance of viable cooperatives as vehicles for economic employment cooperative participation.

“We therefore, bring in deliberate policy direction in the economic recovery road map of our change administration with industrialization and enterpreneurship as one of the five policy trust”, he added.

Lalong stressed that,” the workshop will lead towards finding reliable cooperative financial system and guarantee access to the CBN N220 billion warehouse funds for micro, small and medium to enterprise development”.

He promised effective service delivery which the state acquired land in Anguldi , Jos south LGA and the federal Government constructed integrated service training for staff of. Specialized (model) cooperatives and also embarking on the repairs tractors and procurement of Agro-inputs for the cooperatives.

Lalong assured the cooperative federation of Nigeria that the Plateau state government will continue to identify with the federation in her programs and activities so as to enhance the purpose of her establishment.

The chairman of  Progressive  Multipurpose cooperative Ltd. affiliated to Royal life key and micro-finance bank Ltd ,Mr Amos Zira Dali said they have fashion out a cooperative program to revitalize on how to transform the process of accessing the funds.

He added, it is an opportunity for million members from the 17 local government areas of Plateau state to benefit from the framework of  capital revamping and sustainable development of federal government.

Dali urged government to flow with the global program by embracing the cooperatives encouragement in all policy of development.

“We advice states government to take advantage of the coming funds program and network toward enhancement of people welbeing to better their future “.

He employed Plateau  state and  the general public  to see the cooperative societies as ways of providing jobs and generate employment for the growing army of unemployed youths in the state.

The President of CFN. Engr Jibrin Bala Jos  decried the low GDP scatter in commercial bank by calling on  government to address the problem of cooperate capital N220 billion for development of minor cooperatives society.

He said the accessibility has been a big problem to the common man but solicited the national cooperative to ensure people Nigerian take advance of the promised improve their income generation.

Jos appealed to state and federal government to ensure that government bring in policy that people can benefit from and reduce poverty to its barest minimum.

He lamented that, it is unfortunate and regrettably that globally, Nigeria inclusive,(he portfolio over 3 million cooperatives with over 1 billion members three times more than direct shareholders of investor-own companies annual revenues of 2.2trillion USD which is equivalent of the GDP of the 7th largest economy of the world, scattered in commercial banks is begging for reliable capital to revive global economic recession.

According to him , 60% of the total funds designated for them to access. But has remained a challenge for cooperatives in the nation .
