Condemnation Trails Nasarawa Assembly’s Speaker Following His Absence At The Burial Of His Driver

The absence of the speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Ibrahim Balarabe at the burial of his driver Danladi Osana continued to generate heat.

The burial which took place at Assakio amidst heavy downpour witnessed not only the absence of the speaker but also the Deputy speaker and other members respectively.

The clerk of the Assembly, Ego Mai Keffi in his speech told the family members of late Osana that the speaker was on a very important assignment.

“The speaker is attending a very important wedding ceremony somewhere, said Mai Keffi.

Danladi Osana who was in the service of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly from 2000 work with Standard Organization of Nigeria, Nigerian Breweries.

Until his death is a casual staff of the Assembly from 2000, which is 17 years in the Assembly.

It would be recalled that the death of Danladi Osana bring to two of number staff that died in active service without pension, also Rashida Keana who died in the last two years.

A driver who pleaded anonymity expressed displeasure over the way late Osana was treated, saying majority of them are casual staff.

“Can you imagine that the Nasarawa State House of Assembly gave the family of late driver to speaker N100, 000 only “.

He was buried according to Christian rite.

The chairman House committee on Information, Honorable James Akoza (APC) representing Doma South or the press Secretary to the Speaker, Jibrin Gwamna could not be reached at press time.
