A group under the aegis of concerned All Progressives Congress, APC, Youth Vanguard of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state has condemned in totality the action of some group under the umbrella of Fourteen (14) APC ward Chairmen calling on the attention of Plateau state government to conduct Local government election in Jos North ,describing their statement as not friends of Plateau state.
A statement signed by the chairman of the concern APC youth vanguard Alhaji Shehu Mohammad and his secretary Joseph Maigari on behalf of the concern APC youth vanguard described the action as preplanned ,supported and sponsored by some unscrupulous elements who are staged managing some exco for their own selfish interests.
The statement further stressed that those who are calling for the election at this time that Plateau state is enjoying relative peace are not friends of Plateau, and are very ungrateful with the magnanimity of Governor Simon Lalong in bringing peace and development to the door step of its citizenry.
The peace of Jos North alone is the peace of Plateau state, “Therefore,, no group no matter is nomenclature should dictate the appointment or election of any kind to the government as all groups are subject to the executive power of the government and should not discredit the competence of the Lalong led administration on the Plateau”.
While using the medium to eulogized the virtue and steadfastness of the Governor for his efforts despite the challenges in its quest to restore the lost glory of Plateau state they pledged their determination and resolved to rally round the Governor to succeed and appealed to Governor Simon Lalong to be focus ,not to be distracted by the enemies of Plateau who want to trade people lives for their gain .
The statement further called on the good people of Jos North irrespective of tribe ,religious or political affiliation to give peace a chance as peace is fundamental for development and transformation pointed out that the people of Jos north and Plateau state as a whole should allow the result oriented government of Rt Hon Simon Lalong to make the right decision on how to govern Jos North within the peace and security architecture of peace building process.
